Funded by the Armed Forces Covenant Trust Fund, Removing Barriers offers free support for veterans aged 50+, their families and carers for up to 12 weeks. During this period, after a guided conversation to ascertain needs and support, the service aims to find long term solutions to issues raised.
The service is able to help with many aspects including:
• Health
• Social
• Financial
• Education
• Work
• Parenting
• Intimate Relationships
In partnership with other veteran’s services and national organisations, as well as local groups and support, Removing Barriers is hopeful to see a positive difference to you and your loved one’s lives, giving you choice, control and independence. Age UK Lancashire has many years of experience helping people across Lancashire.
Clients, where possible have a visit in their own home to complete an assessment with a Removing Barriers wellbeing worker. If a home visit is not possible, a telephone assessment is completed or the client is offered an appointment at Age UK Lancashire
