HTC will complete eligibility and exploration into your circumstances and then determine the correct benefit for you.
If NOT Universal Credit then we will signpost or refer you to the relevant support to make your claim.
If Universal Credit is right for you and your circumstances then we will explain fully how UC operates, what your commitments are for claiming Universal Credit and then support you to make your claim.
Most claims are expected to be made online and we will talk you through exactly what you need to do to complete your claim and then manage this moving forward.
In the event that we have determined that you are unable to manage an online claim, then we will either support you via conference call to the DWP to set up a telephone claim or in the event you are able to make a telephone claim yourself we will provide you with the relevant information to do this.
HTC can support you up to your first correct Universal Credit payment - so if you believe your first payment is not correct, we will check this for you and then provide the next steps you need to take to get this corrected.
