County Durham and Darlington Victim Care and Mentor Service are commissioned by County Durham and Darlington Police and Crime Commissioner, Joy Allen, to support victims of crime and antisocial behaviour as well as those who are vulnerable to future crime and anti-social behaviour.
We are a dedicated service committed to working with volunteers to help people rebuild their lives after experiencing crime and anti-social behaviour. Our volunteers play a vital role providing compassionate, non-judgemental support to individuals who may feel isolated, overwhelmed or unsure where to turn.
Our work reflects the belief that everyone deserves an opportunity to feel empowered and connected to their community. Whilst our approach combines professional oversight with the compassion and lived experience of our volunteers.
Volunteering for Durham & Darlington Victim Care and Mentor Service means supporting people affected by, or are vulnerable to, crime by providing emotional support, practical guidance and a listening ear. You will help individuals feel heard, informed and empowered as they navigate difficult circumstances, giving them confidence. Make a meaningful difference in your community through compassionate, person-centred support.
