Community Works is a community anchor charity based in the market town of Thirsk, working with people and communities across Hambleton and the wider North Yorkshire area. Our core services are delivered locally in Thirsk and surrounding villages, with funded specialist projects extending our reach across the county.
We support people across the whole life course, from early years and families through to older age, caring and dementia support. Our work is grounded in practical help, trusted relationships and strong local partnerships, enabling people to remain connected, supported and active within their communities.
Community Works delivers a range of practical, community-based services that respond directly to local need. Our core services include Food Bank; community transport; Meals on Wheels; carers’ breaks; dementia support; Men’s Shed; early years and family groups; community groups and activities; and access to affordable reused furniture through the Re:Use Furniture Store.
We also provide drop in services offering connection, information and support, alongside targeted one-to-one support for individuals with more complex needs such low-level mental health and wellbeing support, housing, benefits, employment support and skills development.
