Dementia Daycare/Carer Respite Service.
All of our team are trained in depth by our own qualified dementia and mental health Practitioners and occupational therapist, using evidenced based practices that are centred around the proven methods of cognitive therapy and stimulation that have been shown to slow the progression of the disease.
- The above practices also include using the method of interest-based therapy, using each individuals’ unique histories to choose activities that promote meaning and purpose, cognition and positive feelings of wellbeing and independence, all whilst enhancing social and physical engagement.
However, this all done in a fun social club environment so that our members do not feel that they have been placed in care for the day, they are simply meeting up with friends and having fun!
Importantly, the carers do not stay, so they can get some often much needed respite without the carers guilt sometimes associated with care homes.
As we are health care professionals, we also offer medication administration and personal care if required.
100% of our clients would recommend our service. Through our non-clinical and person- led practices, our client’s families are able to access guilt free care, so we are keeping families together at home. The impact and benefit of their days with go far beyond their time spent with us and can be evident up to a week after attendance.
These include:
* Improved mood
* Reduced anxiety
* Increased motivation
* Communication and engagement enhanced
* Task based abilities improved
* More regulated sleep
* Reduced carer stress and fatigue, avoiding carer crisis.
- At the Rainbow Care Group, we believe in quality over profit and understand that to provide individualised bespoke care and split activities we need to invest for the best outcomes of our clients. The UK Regulation for Dementia care is 1 staff member to 8 people living with Dementia. The Rainbow Care Group ratio is 1 staff member to 3 or 4 clients with a maximum of 12 clients per club.
- We are 6x winners of the Dementia Care Award for the whole of the UK, most recently awarded in 2023 and we have been offering our service for over 10 years throughout Yorkshire.
- Our clubs are always in community settings such as, sports clubs, community centres, church halls etc. so that that are not in an institutional setting such as a care home and therefore giving that social club experience.
We provide Specialist Dementia Day Care for those living with all types of Dementia in community settings which also gives carers and loved ones often much needed respite.
