South Lakeland Mind exists to enhance the quality of life of people experiencing mental and emotional distress and to work generally towards the promotion of better mental health and a greater sense of wellbeing for people in South Lakeland.
The eHub - A wealth of information about mental health, our own services and those of other locally based providers.
Counselling - For people who would like to talk in confidence about any problems. We work both indoors and outdoors and offer a variety of approaches.
Befriending - Relationships based on trust in a one to one setting. The aim is to provide practical assistance and social support, raising self-confidence and engagement with the community.
Drop-ins - A chance to meet friends and make new ones, enjoy a tea or coffee or just sit quietly and wind down. People can also share problems or talk in confidence with one of our staff or volunteers.
Kendal Drop-in Stricklandgate House, 92 Stricklandgate, Kendal LA9 4PU. Open every weekday from 10-12 and 1-3; there is a women's group on Thursday mornings from 10-12.
Grange Drop-in Community Resource Centre, Behind Grange Fire Station, Kents Bank Road, Grange LA11 7DJ. Open Monday 1.30—4pm.
Massage for relaxation
Volunteers We have a range of opportunities and welcome applications from anyone over 18. All people need is a desire to do something useful for the community and an understanding approach.
