Energy and Fuel Poverty Advisor - 35 hours per week - Closing date Monday 27 Feb 2023
The Project: ‘To provide home energy efficiency information and carbon monoxide safety advice’. You will support local people experiencing fuel poverty, debt and hardship to maximise household income, reduce outgoings and build financial wellbeing and independence. Using a range of face-to-face and outreach services you will give energy advice, assist with fuel debt, change energy related behaviour, and find solutions to energy issues and raise awareness of Carbon Monoxide to increase people’s feeling of safety at home. Full training will be given.
The role: The ideal candidate will have experience managing projects in the voluntary sector. You will oversee and support a small team of staff and volunteers and work with them to deliver all aspects of Centre for Warmth Project. You will provide comprehensive energy advice to local people through a tailor-made programme of activities, at planned community events and workshops, and carry out outreach sessions at various community venues to raise awareness of energy saving measures and to help reduce fuel poverty. You will liaise with and bring together a range of specialists from other charities and public sector agencies that deal with debt, energy and housing issues.
